REGULATION FOR THE AUDIENCE VOTE ON LEEDSPIANO2018.MEDICI.TV WEBSITE :


This Regulation dated 30 August 2018 is agreed between:

3. VOTING PARTICIPANT



AGREE THAT:



1. ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE VOTE 

During the Leeds International Piano Competition 2018, LIPC and the COMPANY organise an online audience vote that allows users to vote for their favorite Leeds International Piano Competition 2018 final round candidates. At the end of the competition, an audience award will be delivered to one of the competition finalists during the Award Ceremony in Leeds.

The vote is available on the website leedspiano2018.medici.tv and the conditions of participation are details in the articles below.


2. CONDITIONS RELATING TO VOTING PARTICIPANTS

Participation in the vote of one of the 5 finalists of the 2018 Leeds International Piano Competition is free, without restriction of place of residence. There will be no compensation of any kind for the VOTING PARTICIPANTS to the vote.

Participation in the voting process is strictly personal and nominative. To confirm a vote, an electronic form duly filled in will be required.

3. TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION

A user is allowed to vote only once during the competition.  He/she cannot edit his/her vote after submission.


The procedure is as follows:

In order to vote, VOTING PARTICIPANTS must visit the website leedspiano2018.medici.tv  between the end of the semi-final round (currently planned on September 11th, 2018 at 22:00) and the end of the competition deliberation after the final round (currently planned on September 15th, 2018 at 21:00  (BST (British Summer Time)). This date are subject to change according to the competition agenda. 

A page dedicated to the online vote is available on leedspiano2018.medici.tv once the vote period is opened.

On this page, the closing date of the vote is indicated, as well as the designated candidates a user can vote for. In order to vote, the user  must :

  1. Select 1 (one) candidate from the competition he/she wants to vote for.

  2. Fill in the information required in the electronic form, namely his/her name and surname, as well as his/her email address.

  3. Successfully submit the form.


The Company has integrated means to prevent the website from bot spamming and multiple participations.


Any participation executed other than via the website is excluded.

Any incomplete electronic form, which does not comply with the conditions set out in this Regulation, falsified, not validated, confirmed after the deadline or in any other configuration than those provided above, or containing inaccurate or incorrect information, will not be taken into account and will be considered null.

The COMPANY reserves the right to pursue by any appropriate means any attempt to misuse this regulation and especially in case of communication of erroneous information.


4. THE AUDIENCE AWARD


After the vote is closed, LIPC will offer a medici.tv Audience Award to the candidate that received the largest number of votes.


The result will be displayed in the results page at leedspiano2018.medici.tv/vote.


The LIPC and COMPANY reserve the right to cancel this audience award in case there is a suspicion of website hacking.


5. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

The COMPANY draws the VOTING PARTICIPANTS' attention to the characteristics and the limits of the internet network, in particular in regards to the technical performances, the response time to consult the website, to interrogate or transfer the information, the lack of protection of certain data against possible diversions and the risk of contamination by possible viruses circulating on the network. The COMPANY declines any responsibility related to the consequences of the connection of the VOTING PARTICIPANTS during the vote organized on leedspiano2018.medici.tv.

Thus, the organizing COMPANY cannot be held responsible for any malfunction of the "Internet" network preventing the smooth running of the vote especially due to external malicious acts. The COMPANY cannot be held responsible in the event that one or more VOTING PARTICIPANTS cannot be able to connect to the site because of any technical defect or any problem related in particular to an overload network (wifi…). The COMPANY makes every effort to offer users information and / or tools available and verified, but can not be held responsible for:

  • errors (including erroneous emails VOTING PARTICIPANTS),

  • lack of availability of information (i.e. system updates) and / or the presence of viruses on their devices,

  • any malfunction of the Internet preventing the smooth running of the vote;

  • interruptions, delays in data transmission, failures of the computer, telephone, modem, player's telephone line, servers, Internet service providers, telephone operators, computer equipment, software;

  • the loss of any email and more generally, the loss of any data, the consequences of any virus, computer bug, anomaly, technical failure, any damage to a VOTING PARTICIPANT's computer, any technical failure, hardware and software of any kind, having prevented or limited the possibility of participating in the vote or having damaged the system of a VOTING PARTICIPANT.


It is the responsibility of any VOTING PARTICIPANT to take all appropriate measures to protect their own data and / or software stored on their computer and telephone equipment against any infringement. The connection of any person to the site and participation in the vote is under its full responsibility.


In any case, if the administrative and / or technical smooth running of the vote is disturbed by a virus, computer bug, unauthorized human intervention or any other cause beyond the control of the COMPANY, the COMPANY reserves the right to interrupt the vote in agreement with the LIPC.


6. VALIDATION


Onsite at Leeds Town Hall, the appointed lawyer for the medici.tv Audience Award validation will validate that the results from the voting tool are the same results as have been sent through to the LIPC and will confirm this in writing.


The COMPANY and LIPC disclaim any liability if, in case of force majeure or events beyond their control, the vote must be cancelled, extended, shortened, partially or totally modified or postponed. Additions and modifications of this regulation may then be published during the vote. They will be considered as annexes to this regulation. Any change(s) will be communicated by appropriate means.  


7. GENERAL INFORMATION

Unless otherwise stated, the personal data that will be communicated by the VOTING PARTICIPANTS as part of the processing of their participation will be computerized. The regulation should be read in conjunction with the Privacy Policy. In accordance with our Privacy Policy (available at https://leedspiano2018.medici.tv/privacy-policy/), VOTING PARTICIPANTS may oppose the computer processing of data concerning them and have a right of access, rectification and deletion of data concerning them by writing to:

The COMPANY undertakes to communicate personal data to  LIPC, medici.tv and University of Leeds.


8. REGULATION

Participation in this vote implies the VOTING PARTICIPANTS’ accept the regulations that have been approved by the appointed lawyer of LIPC.

The reimbursement of the connection fees necessary for the consultation of the rules can be obtained (flat rate of 4 minutes of connection or a total of €0.194) on simple written request to the above postal address. This only concerns access to the site on a non-free or non-flat-rate subscription.


Access to the site on a free or flat rate basis (such as cable connection, ADSL or specialized link) will not give rise to any refund insofar as the subscription to the services of the service provider is contracted for the account of the user and / or for his/her use of the Internet in general and that the fact for the VOTING PARTICIPANT to connect to the site and participate in the vote does not cause him/her any additional fees or disbursements.

9. DISPUTES AND LIABILITIES

This regulation is subject to French law.
